About me

As an avid advocate for rescue animals, I've had the pleasure of caring for multiple reactive rescue dogs over the years. However, while navigating the journey of solo-owning my own reactive mutt, I encountered a significant challenge. Despite my best efforts to find suitable training programs or doggie daycares, none seemed to accommodate the specific needs of my dog. Compounded by his intimidating appearance, gaining access to daycare facilities for socialization proved nearly impossible.

Faced with this dilemma, I immersed myself in a plethora of online learning, determined to equip myself with the knowledge and skills necessary to properly care for my beloved companion. Through trial and error, I discovered that structured walks became our saving grace. Recognizing the struggles of fellow dog owners in similar predicaments, I felt compelled to offer my expertise and assistance.

Thus, Misjudged Mutts was born—a dog walking service nestled in the heart of Lower Hutt, Wellington. Hands-on experience in basic training of rescue dogs with complex backgrounds, our mission is clear: to provide professional, compassionate, and tailored services to dogs of all backgrounds, with a special focus on those with unique needs.

At Misjudged Mutts, we firmly believe in the untapped potential of every dog, irrespective of their past experiences. Our approach is grounded in patience, control, and affection, as we work alongside both dogs and their owners to conquer any obstacles that may arise. Whether it's a lack of time, training assistance, or simply a helping hand during walks, we're here to support you and your furry friend every step of the way.
